How did you come up with this idea?
Feride Uslu has been experimenting with airbrush make-up on fashion photo shoots and runway shows for several years. Initially, she was excited by the many options, traditional and experimental, that this tool offered. She soon realized she was achieving amazing results when called upon to apply the fashionable "natural look" being requested on many of her shoots. And when her clients started asking her to apply the make-up to their own faces, she knew she was on to something. She decided it was time to develop a tool that could be easily used by everyone, within and without of the fashion industry. Together with specially micronized colors, formulated to meet her creative vision. And as they say "the rest is history". So, here we are ...!
Did you invent this?
Yes and no. The airbrush was originally invented over 100 years ago. For many years Hollywood used it as a special effects tool. uslu airlines has gone the next step - by "tweaking" and tailoring this tool to our modern-day "on-the-go" needs, we're making this "tool" available to all of us.

How much does it cost?
More than a Q-tip and less than a Learjet. The initial investment will be somewhat like a plane ticket from USA to Europe (coach!). The cost per usage will be very low. Our technology is based on a concept with very little amounts of make-up going on your skin. But hey, you asked for numbers, here you go:

Is this hard to do?
No, in fact it's clean and simple. You pick your shade of uslu airlines' micronized make-up, turn on the airflow, lightly spray your face and that's it! You're ready to face the world!
Anyone can do it. If you can write with a pencil or use a toothbrush without major accidents, you will master uslu airlines airflow make-up easily. Most people need only 10 minutes to get used to the new tool and then they don’t want to use anything else.
Where can I learn to use this?
In your home. Or whereever you have a mirror and a couple of minutes time. This is all it takes to learn the primary skills. Of course, every uslu airlines kit and product will always come with an instruction explaining usage and maintenance. There will also be a free public demo at uslu airlines' Web site www.usluairlines.com, so you can already learn how to use it before you buy.
Do you have other products as well?
We place the biggest priority on our airflow products, but you should expect us to also offer more traditional products where it makes sense. Initially, you found uslu airlines lipstick, concealer, mascara, loose powder and a set of 6 brushes. We already added lipgloss and cream colours in 2004. Nail polish in 2005. We plan to reach a total SKU of 250+.

We believe that Uslu Airlines is superior to most traditional cosmetic products, but we take a very open, non-secterian approach: If your regular eye-shadow works fine for you and you are happy with it, you may want to keep using it in combination with Uslu Airlines foundation. Also, there are a couple of products out there that offer such good results for many people, that it would not be smart to try to steer users away from that. Uslu Airlines is perfectly compatible with other upscale cosmetics.

Who does what in your company?
Feride brings in the ideas and the creative input and Jan makes sure that it works.
Well, not only is Feride the face of uslu airlines but she is also the creative mind behind it all. As such, she's creative director and CEO (chief executive officer). Jan is the guy who gets it done and as such has been named uslu airlines COO (chief operating officer).
The entire brand design, logo, graphics and packaging was created by New York based designer/art director Ali Cindoruk. The product design of the air(o)pak was mainly done by Jonas Damon. We also work with a group of professionals that act as advisors, to include marketing strategists, engineers, formulators, photographers and design consultants. (see credits)
What's with those crazy/funny/weird names?
All uslu airlines products and colours have airport names. We like to call our products 'destinations' and therefore use the global aviation 3-letter-code system for our product organization... We pick the names by heart, by sound, by love, by many many categories! Some are big, well-known and often travelled (like JFK or CDG, for example). Others are very small (like TUY) or very boring (like SIR). A few of our destination airports do not even have a landing strip or runway: the heliports or the water plane airports on lakes and rivers.
All in all, uslu airlines offers over 150 destinations in over 140 countries. That's more than Lufthansa or British Airways or Delta or Air France. Hence, uslu airlines is #1. Again.
